Purpose, Seasons and a GIANTSLAYER TURNS ONE!!!

It was Wednesday, September 16, 2015 when I started noticing a tiny, almost negligible growth right on his lower inner left eye. Slowly but surely, it continued to grow till it was SO OBVIOUS.

crazy I don’t have a picture but this was how it was

People would always ask ‘what happened to his eye?’ and everytime I would say NOTHING!!! Finally, I decided to take him to the hospital and their diagnosis just annoyed me. There were too many big names thrown around and we were passed from doc to doc until we ended with TWO consultants and err, surgery would be the solution right after they had done tests on the growth to determine what kinda growth it was, and then we were finally referred to LUTH.

Wooooooh, I just carried my baby and went home. Tests ko, LUTH ni. That was when I decided that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Nobody is knocking my baby out with any general anaesthetic and putting him under the knife to take out this stupid growth that kept increasing. I decided it was time to WAR. EVERY DAY, MORNING AND NIGHT, I would anoint that growth and speak to it, cursing it and commanding it to shrink and die from its roots and NEVER to come back. I also laid the referral letter before God and declared that I would NEVER have to use it. I speak over it everytime and for a long time, I did not notice ANYTHING. NO REDUCTION, nothing!!! Because I was always checking it everytime and I noticed it was even increasing. I decided to STOP looking at it aside that anointing. A long time passed and then one day, I noticed it was going down. I didn’t stop my confessions and anointing for about five months and then one day, almost like magic, I noticed that the growth was COMPLETELY GONE!!! (You see why i say you should stay consistent in fighting?) Azzin, COMPLETELY. As I rejoiced, God told me

‘…don’t you know you have a GIANT SLAYER on your hands…I mean, we are talking GIANTS here so what’s a STUPID growth?…’

You see guys, mothering KingDaveed has brought me joy unspeakable but what I really wanna highlight is how God used this GIANT SLAYER to just propel me into PURPOSE!!!

I realised i was pregnant at the same time I started my job with the UN. I stopped work and had to relocate from Abuja for reasons connected to his birth. My goodness, I was one heck of a DEPRESSED and FRUSTRATED mama. Yes I LOVED being a mom but my goodness, I HATED the fact that I was giving up a career of my dreams and all my friends were just moving forward and here I was stuck with diapers and breast pumps. Look guys, it was HARD. I cried a whole lot. I look back today and I am soooooo thankful I had KingDaveed just came into my life and reroute me from living a life that was anything BUT His PERFECT WILL. Gosh, I am sooooo thankful that I do not even KNOW what to do!!! All those days I spent being NOTHING but a mom have been days that have defined my very life today.

All the things God taught and told me about my future, I WOULD NEVER KNOW IF I STILL HAD MY 8to5pm. I recall when I looked forward to going back to work and EVERYTIME it just felt like all I was seeing was God’s BACK!!! No peace, No word, nothing!!! The day I threw my will and desires out of the window, my Jesus began to speak. I began to thank God for my portion. I began to embrace the season I was in.

I began to truly enjoy being a mom, stress, meltdowns and all. I stopped all my silly comparisons with my friends in a career because I understood that what God had called them to was their business and not mine and if I chuck my nose in my purpose. I would realise I do not even have time to compare. I didn’t let any pressure from my people get to me, and there was a LOT!!!

But as KingDaveed was approaching his first birthday, I felt like God was trying to tell me something. It was fuzzy but I just knew He was set to just say something. As I prayed concerning the photoshoot I wanted to do, God told me to capture my everyday life with KingDaveed in the pictures. I was so excited about the idea and I recall sharing with my bestie Booski and she just couldn’t wait for the pictures.

That frame was a gift from Booski. LOVEEET

That frame was a gift from Booski. LOVEEET

You need to understand that for the better part of KingDaveed’s first year, it had just been BOTH OF US. We had wayyyyyy too much memories together and God wanted me to make the shoot about it.

Yup, he went EVERYWHERE with me

Yup, he went EVERYWHERE with me

And right in the middle of the shoot, God told me

Eziaha, it is time for you to move to the NEXT SEASON OF YOUR LIFE…

If I tell you I didn’t understand what God meant, I lie!!! But even then, what I knew was little and so over the next couple of weeks, God started to REALLY explain SEASONS to me, how what I thought was merely a ‘low output season’ for me was actually a HUGE part of His PERFECT PLAN. That time when my whole life was consumed with this little human here, He was in it.

Can I just take a moment to really appreciate two of my besties who would LISTEN to me as I exhausted their credit time after time just running them through what God has told me and gosh these girls would listen, make sense of it all for me, tell me how much I was ABLE to do ALL that He had told me to do. Valerie and Dumebi, you girls are ROCKSTARS!!! And I do mean ROCKS and STARS. I can’t even begin to deserve you girls. Nah!!!

And just to make sure I had the time to pursue all that He called me to do, He sent me a homehelp literally from heaven.

My lil chef

(Almost) All my routines with KingDaveed, she took over. I can wake up and just go sit before God downloading for the first 6hours of my day knowing that she got KingDaveed covered.

My prayer and prayer room partner

I can pull allnighters studying and fleshing up the business ideas God has given because I didn’t have an exhausting day. I could actually reach more ladies as God brought them to me because I didn’t have to be consumed with KingDaveed. Now, don’t get me wrong, I still spend an awful lot of time with KingDaveed

somedays, we just don't wanna smile

somedays, we just don’t wanna smile

but God had to teach me that it was OK to leave him with her and work for my new season because He was watching over him/them. Diaper changing, bathing, washing, feeding (aside breastfeeding which I intend to carry on till he is at least 1yr and half, just incase you are wondering), rocking to sleep, etc, Nkechi handles it all and that’s because God has moved me from that season. I occasionally slide in and do some of these but it is now Nkechi’s to handle.

Sometimes I wonder the direction my life would have taken if I didn’t conceive at the time I did. Would my roots have gone as deep as they are now? Would I have started my own businesses? Would I have been hearing God as I do now? Would I be working on the things I am working on now? Would I still be stuck in a season that was less than His PERFECT WILL? Would I be frustrated or nah?

Look, I am so thankful for KingDaveed for all the above and more.

My church buddy

My church buddy

KingDaveed also made me LEARN FIRSTHAND what it meant to have compassion for people with kids. Look, I am ashamed to say that I was that chick who if I was in a bus, especially when I was in school, going from Lag to Ibadan for example, I would AVOID any row that had any baby or child. I just didn’t care for children, especially if they DARED to not be still. And then there were days I would have to take a bus with KingDaveed because I really couldn’t afford to take a cab and it would HIT me!!! Imagine someone doing that to KingDaveed???

African mama

I went with KingDaveed to the market everytime when I was alone and I recalled how I wasn’t exactly nice to women who were backing their kids and carrying two or three market bags. I walked in those shoes and I LEARNED compassion. Now, I am constantly looking out for that woman who I can help in what little way or the other. I have become that chick who would quickly strike off something from my shopping list so I could be a blessing financially to some mama who REALLY needs it. I literally enter the market looking for ONE mom to help in whatever way I can. It made me soooooo thankful for what I had especially when I start to even remotely complain, because my eyes were opened to women who could BARELY even feed their kids. I mean, God used KingDaveed to give me a real perspective check.

Back to the giant slaying story. When God told me that, it stirred something in me. It stirred a GIANT in me too. I knew I couldn’t afford to stay slacking as I mother this boy. My A-game has to be on fleek, spiritually.

You best believe this boy will LOVE JESUS like crazy!!!

You best believe this boy will LOVE JESUS like crazy!!!

I had to grow. QUICKLY!!! As the last born myself, God had to teach me to make my decisions concerning MY SON as HE LED ME and not let ANYONE ELSE’s opinion affect me, NO MATTER WHO. It meant I had to really download from heaven concerning XYZ before my mom’s opinion came in and I had to learn how to put my feet down on my decisions.

TheBIBLE had to be my GUIDE

TheBIBLE had to be my GUIDE

Azzin, I say my NO and MEAN IT!!! Being a mom to this GIANT SLAYER just matured me quickly. I had a destiny in my hand, literally and I am determined to raise him truly in the way of God and not according to the world. I have to keep firing prayers into his NOW and his FUTURE. I couldn’t afford to slack.

BIO goals haha

BIO goals haha

I feel like a truly different Eziaha. The old Eziaha went the moment I became a mom. God had to use Him to re-route my life and place me on the right track. I feel like an EZIAHA on PURPOSE!!!

Purpose, right in the middle of the 'ordinary' like cooking

Purpose, right in the middle of the ‘ordinary’ like cooking

Just bang in the middle of all that God has called me to do and be. I truly feel like I can take down the GIANTS that await in this new season of my life. I truly wanna lead a Proverbs 31 life. I feel really privileged to mother this GIANT SLAYER and by God, I would not trade any of my seasons, past, present and future, for ANYTHING!!!

Gosh, I am SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! I cannot wait to look back at these pictures next year as KingDaveed turns TWO and see just how far God has brought me from this season now and maybe, just maybe He may be ready to take me to the next season of my life. I know God, He moves on fastforward especially with me and so I have to RUN, literally AFTER what God has called me to do.

No time baby, no time!!!

And hey, I just wanna say a HUGE thank you to Olaedo. Without doubt, she has been the BIGGEST MOMMY INFLUENCE in my life. She has taught me sooooooo many things both by words and by actions. And to think I met her off my blog. I am just thankful she obeyed the prompt to send me an email. She has held my hand through my pregnant days to when KingDaveed was born and afterwards. She has taken me in and just poured into me. I haven’t seen anyone mother like Ola. Her kids are just BEAUTIFUL and no I don’t mean only physically.

Ola has ALL our pictures and doesn't wanna send to me...

Ola has ALL our pictures and doesn’t wanna send to me…

I am just excited at all that they will grow to be because Ola is a SUPER SOUND GODLY mama. Ola, you are an absolute treasure!!! I love you with all of my heart. Thank you soooooooooo much darling. Thank you.

And this will all make sense later but I am grateful first to mama for bringing DDK for Warrior In Heels.

Two different people had told me about DDK and how we have A LOT in common and so I go look for her on Twitter and her bio interested me. Anyways, I didn’t know what to expect but as DDK opened her mouth to give the WORD, I knew EXACTLY why my spirit had been soooooo excited about her and the program. She’s my new best friend now (she doesn’t know yet but soooooooon) and I am amazed as to how often I now say ‘…like DDK said…’ haha.

Just like Dee… lol

DDK is sooooooo vital for this season I am in now and mehn… DDK answered almost EVERY question I had, it was surreal. I have truly never had a moment of listening to someone where I am at the edge of my seat, leaning in as far as possible and cupping my palm in my chin. img_20160408_040736.jpg

I have NEVER had that posture listening to anyone. It was like DDK was talking to ME!!! The connection I felt with DDK was CRAZY!!! She talked about Seasons, Apostles in the marketplace, commonizing the ‘ordinary’. She talked about some of the stuff I had blogged about in recent times but still, they HIT me.  In fact let me not talk too much. But if you ever have an opportunity to hear DDK minister, RUN THERE!!!

Lemme end with a funny story. About KingDaveed. There was this one time we came in from church and I told my help to snap me just before we entered my home but KingDaveed kept making her shake so I took him in and closed the door. Soon I stopped hearing his movement behind the door but I didn’t bother. After our snapping, we came in and guess what Bro KingDaveed was doing? He had gone to my fridge, which he had recently learnt to open, brought out my tomatoes which were in the lower compartment of the door, and pressed all of them.

My fridge scatterer

My fridge scatterer

Hahaha. It was soooooo funny. Ah children. Silence is very very suspicious.

And this is me side-eyeing that chick who recently gave KingDaveed some money and on the envelop wrote ‘Bro KingDaveed’ I couldn’t believe it. I laughed sooooo hard. Haha. Crazy you!!!

Motherhood is an amazing amazing gift straight from heaven.

My bestie just popped out baby number 2

and I told her that she better name him Jonathan because frankly, I think she may have just birthed my baby’s covenant ‘Jonathan’.

I can NOT wait for more and more babies from my friends especially those with whom I am in faith. Just get ready to have your life changed FOREVER if You let Him be GOD even in your parenting.

My workout interferer lol

This post took a different turn than I thought it would. But I am happy it did. Looking forward to re-reading it when KingDaveed turns two and being just FLAT OUT AMAZED by GOD!!! AMEN…

Loved meeting everyone from my blog at Warrior in Heels.

Someborry tell my hubby to learn this our pose quickly ooooo

Then I love this picture too. Just look at that transformation

Support. Growing. Businesses. Part 1

Recently, I have come to not just FULLY accept, but also CELEBRATE my role as a HOME MAKER!!!

Tz such a purpose-filled journey and I LOVE it.
I’m even in a better place than I was when I wrote ‘Authentically me & Surprisingly Satisfied‘. Tz awesome!!!

Anyways, I will still do a post on our roles as homemakers whether you are a career mom or a stay-at-home mom. Will draw lessons from Proverbs 31 and Titus 2.

Look out for that one guys.
Best seller stuff, I promise.

OK anyways, one gift I have realised God has graced me with is the ability to find great deals and so save my home (and hubby) a lot of money.

Frankly I think He graced women with that gift.
Every month, or as I find, I’ll share with yawl.
This month (let’s assume we are in January please), I wanna share three growing businesses I have dealt with and have been impressed by.

Hopefully, someone finds some info or tip they can use.

1. Pemmakui salon for my dreadlocks.

I got my locks done there.
I have toyed with the locks idea for a while but I have never quite been ready for it both time wise and money wise.
Then I found Pemmakui on Dealdey and I got their addy and went to see them live.

Now normally, dreads starter package is anything from 10k for 1 or 2, max 3 visits. Most are 15k and above. I’ve done baby locks before so I know.
Your hair will NEVER lock in 3 visits and so you have to keep going for relocks. Relocks are between 3k and 5k. So yup, dreads are expensive for a start, and time consuming. At least for the first 4-6months.
But at Pemmakui, it is 12k for your first 7sessions and 2k per relock. 1k when they have deals on Dealdey.
And best part is the guy who locks is soooooo good and soooo respectful and soooo friendly. And soooooo timely too. Never disappointed me on any appointment.
Then to keep the locks in, he sews it at those early visits.

I mean, I got amazing progress with my first 7visits which I dragged to about 7
6weeks because he did a great job sewing it in so it lasted while the locks kicked in.

Like you can choose to even go once a week after the first two visits. That’s amazing especially because dreads at first requires a lot of visits. My hair ain’t fully locked now but the progress has been amazing thanks to him. And the harmattan back then. And my hair type which he says is good too. I love looovvveee being his client. He’s also so patient with KingDaveed even when he troubles the process.

Name : PemmakUi (ask of Slim)
Phone number: 09 054 8394 90
Address: Mokola plaza, Mokola bus stop, Egbeda.

2. Chrishill for my phones.

Took this picture from inside his shop

I’ve featured him on my blog before and some of yawl patronized him but I wanna do that again. I absolutely LOVE being his client. He’s amazing to do business with. His phones are original, the cheapest you would get and have warranty. Plus he has a wide range from high end to the cheaper brands. Recently I needed to get a ‘spare’ phone and I didn’t wanna buy anything too expensive. I got the RLG phone for 16k which he suggested and the phone has been amazing to me. Tz like the infinix red hot phone.
That’s what I use to blog, IG, tweet etc. Aside emails, this phone has overtaken my main phone. Of course it has email functions too.
So when he suggested it, he was spot on.
Dude just knows a lot about phones and can advise you well based on your budget.
He’s also sincere. If you have issues and it is from his end, he’ll fix it for you. He also has original accessories.
I have zero qualms recommending Chris anywhere. I have been a customer for about 4years now. No issues. I’m so comfy and assured with him. He delivered a phone to me when I just had a baby but I doubt he delivers usually. Maybe you can work something out sha.

Name: Chrishill
Location: Computer village. I think Otigba street.
Phone number: 08033085181

3. Ibsek technology for my inverter.

This is probably my biggest find in recent times. Hubs still thanks me for it. We couldn’t get an inverter and generator at once when we moved into our ‘Rehoboth’ so I BEGGED hubs to do an inverter first because he was gonna do generator. He had his objections to inverter so I had to do plenty research and find someone affordable. I found Ibrahim. Let’s just cut a long story short and say I got a 1.5kva inverter, one 200amps and one 150amps battery for, wait for it, 65k abi 70k!!! Guys, I did plenty research and most of what I got was AT LEAST 100k for even lesser specs!!! Plus we even worked out a payment plan that has us pay 45k first and then 20/25k after almost two months.
I must say we had issues at first with battery, installation, current, NEPA unavailability etc but he always came back and fixed it even tho sometimes he would not come when he said he will. Let’s just say ‘Lagos factor’. But largely, he has been honest and reliable.
My inverter has just been amazing and so I’m happy to recommend him.
Plus he has patience.
Several times, I got really upset and would scream at him (or his staff) but he would apologise and find ways to make up. I mean his patience is amazing. Definitely shamed my Christian self a lot because he is even a Muslim. He always stayed calm.

Plus he was always ALWAYS smiling. He has a great smile too. I recall that was the first thing I told him when I met him. Haha. Me and compliments sha.
Because I want to call in favors with him on this one, I’ll keep his number.
Email me if you need it. Haha

But really should you decide to do business with any of them, let them know I sent you. I have such a great relationship with all of them so you can be sure to get the best customer care. The dreads guy doesn’t know my name sha but tell him the customer with a baby. Haha.
And of course, that these people worked for me don’t mean they will work for you. Please let God lead you in this as in everything you do.
They don’t even know I am doing any of this. This is just my way to both support growing businesses and then help anyone who needs their services.

Would love to feature this segment once a month so I’m on the lookout for February. If you have a growing business I can TRY, I won’t stop you from sending to me. I’m just not compelled to feature it here.
I will share as the Lord leads me and if I don’t have any to share, I won’t.

Before I go, might I add that I need a GOOD tailor would prefer someone who can come to my house if need be. But if not, even if you know any good tailor who is growing her business and is affordable and good, holler. And if you are one, holler too. Lagos please.

Third post today. Infact told yawl I was sooooo pumped!!!

You can tell I have a homehelp now right? Lol.

Let’s call her ‘betterer’ because she keeps getting betterer and betterer and betterer.
Plus my hubs is around too for a couple of weeks. I can’t even believe how much time I have to SLEEP or just DO ME!!!
I am so excited he is here and I love having all of us do life together under one roof.

Grateful for his leave and thanking God in advance for when he will be permanently with us.
Frankly, couples should stay together.
I LOVE seeing them bond even though I think men play rough play jor.

Haha. I’m just side eyeing them both when they are playing.

So thankful for and absolutely guarding fiercely my portion!!!

Like hubs has bathed KingDaveed by himself since Friday morning!!!

Yawl, if you live in Lagos, send me your addy. I’m visiting you. Might even move in. Hahahaha

Can’t wait to visit with Ola, Enny (sorry Sapphire), and Dinma and her/my baby this week and next.

Gosh!!! Baby-free me-time!!!

Is this FOR REAL???

Yawl, WIN BIG this week ok? And don’t forget to GO HARD on your teachers.
I will/am too.

My teachers and Father

I LOVE it when yawl publicise my posts. Thank you and God bless you. Please keep sharing on your social media handles and please tag me when you do

My AMERICANAH story… Part 1

I was very excited to start reading the copy of Americanah that my friend Tani had brought over to my place. Done and dusted, I had to share my own AMERICANAH story.

Americanah is a very political opinionated book which the author Chimamanda Adichie tries to downplay with too much romance and talk about natural or kinky hair and of course blogging.

Ordinarily, we all would not always agree with opinions which is why I understand why there have been disparate views about the book unlike our widely accepted and beloved PURPLE HIBISCUS. I am deliberately leaving out ‘Half of a yellow sun’ because I still have not finished that book. The book just didn’t jump at me even after almost 100pages.

I am a HUGE fan of Adichie. I gobble up information on her online as often as possible and I have been known to exhaust my data from watching her on YouTube. So reading Americanah, I could ABSOLUTELY relate with Ifemelu as she took us through the book spanning three places- Britain, America and Nigeria.

At this point, may I reiterate that I can NOT do a review of this book, or any of Adichie’s book for that matter. You can’t easily capture the girl or her works.

But I related and connected with Americanah on various levels

  1. As a BLOGGER; The main character here was Ifemelu. On leaving Nigeria and after many of her experiences in Yankee, she starts a blog.                                                                                                                  Lagos-20130712-00032                                                                                                                                                         As a blogger, I know just what it feels like where every conversation you find yourself a part of almost inspires a blogpost. Where people always say to you ‘You should blog about that ooo’ or ‘Please don’t blog about me on your blog ooo’. Your blog sorta consumes you in a way that you the blogger doesn’t really mind though. THE INTERESTING CONFLICT between sharing someone’s story with copious innuendos so that it can’t even be traced to her and the paranoia of the person stil thinking even my Philippines readers would KNOW she is the one LOL. Ifemelu’s blog posts had deep seated sarcasm. I can totally relate. It was informal. I could relate too. The anxiety of ‘should I take this post or comment down?’ or ‘how many people are even reading what I am writing?’ always suffices lol. Checking stats up and down and giving yourself unnecessary bother. Mschewww. The blog soon started bringing her plenty money to her surprise and while Linda Ikeji can relate to that already, I see me relating to that very soon. Hehehe
  2. As a NATURALISTA;                                                                                                                                                                                   IMG-20130528-00315                                                                                                                                                     That book was too about hair mehn. I recently, about a year ago, chopped off my long and lovely hair to go aux natural. First I did baby dreads,                                                                                                          img-20120726-01845                                                                                                                                                reverted again to human hair extensions and braids and wigs, went back to leaving the hair out as naturalIMG-20130531-00350                                                                                                                                                               and now I am on longer dreads.                                                                                                    Lagos-20130709-00030                                                                                                                                                     The days when I had my TWA (Teeny weeny afro) out there, I would get asked, sometimes harassed with, all sorts of funny questions- why won’t you retouch your hair? Why is your hair natural? Do you go to Deeper life? IMG-20130603-00416       (with my multi-colored nails)                                                                                 And they always asked it as if I had to have a major problem by NOT having permed hair. I have no problem with permed hair unlike Adichie, I just now love my natural hair because I have found a way to manage it and it just works for me. And the truth is being different is so cool. You do need a good amount of self esteem to pull the ‘fro look off though and trust me, I have it.                                                                                       IMG-20130705-00010                                                                                                                                                     Parts of the book that talked about natural hair also had very many tips people with TWA or kinky hair could apply to get the best. Most are DIY treatments cos major hair salons do not and I repeat NOT know how to handle kinky/natural hair. I have my own homemade treatment and also as a rule I DO NOT COMB MY HAIR DRY. Natural hair is indeed easy to handle if we knew some home truths. Ok enough advocacy before I start sounding like Adichie herself.
  3. As a LOVER of LONG WINDING STORY;                                                                                                                                     Americanah is a BIG book. 477 pages in font size 12. She gave us long story mehn. And it was scattered. Like Tani who gave me the book said, she writes scatter scatter moving easily from one continent to another and leaving you behind if you are not careful. A impatient reader will get tired too soon. Ditto an unintelligent reader. Adichie just goes, expecting you to be smart enough to follow her or well, sawry. In fact she leaves no apologies. I mean she moves from one character to the other, one scene to the other, one story to another, sometimes very unrelated (on the surface) and yet she managed to keep me very hooked. For two days, I literally did nothing else but sleep and read Americanah (It is a BIG book). I even forgot to eat. The next point explains why I got this absorbed…
  4. I have plenty of CHIMAMANDA in me and Ifemelu was in many ways like Chimamanda and so by extension I was also seeing myself in the novel.                                                                                                    NEW17                                                                                                                                    I also saw PLENTY of Tani and her no-nonsense answer/wit LOL. Where I was NOT like Adichie, I had read that trait about her from her oral and written interviews so the book was all too familiar. You can see her passion and belief pumping in almost every paragraph. Her sarcasm was cutting. I liked it. Most of Ifem’s answers are answers that I would have given too. Ifem was not afraid to be the lone dissenting voice if that was what she believed in. she was not a crowd girl. She was the kinda woman that would have been called a FEMINIST just because she dared to have an opinion.  Like I put up on various social media sites, Adichie OWNED that book. I saw her in every page. I felt like we were reading and writing it together. signing                                                                                                                                   I like to say I am a born again Adichie LOL… Whatever that means.
  5. I live in LAGOS and I am Igbo. The early part of the book set in Nigeria was set in the East, both University and secondary school. I studied in Owerri (secondary school) and so I could relate with their Igbo teenage love and cliques formed in schools then. Even though my parents didn’t live in the East, I still could relate with parents and the drama of poke-nosing in their teenage children’s affairs and all that. University was set in Nsukka and although I went to UI, I could relate with the incessant strikes and stuff. She also spoke a lot of Igbo which I could totally relate with. She translated all but I wish she didn’t jor.                                                                                              :p to the non-Igbos hehehe.

The latter part of the book was set in good ol’ lagos and I could absolutely relate. Most of it set on the Island, I recognized the streets and the places she spoke about whether directly or implied. And Adichie did not even include one single Yoruba line. Haba. I wanna say she is tribalistic but I find myself saying she is too in love with Igbo that she couldn’t mention any other tribe. LOL

I totally enjoyed reading the book. Of course I do not agree with some of the values she propagated there. It looked like she wanted it to be more ‘accepting’ but then again I know Adichie to be one who does what she wants to do whether you accept it or not. So she wanted to write that way and she did. I will share my criticism in another post. For now, I just wanna salute my friend and an absolutely amazing writer who in the words of the late ICON, Chinualumogu Achebe ‘came almost fully made’… CHIMAMANDA NGOZI ADICHIE.                                             chimamanda-adichie                                                                                                                                                        I am NOT the biggest fan of the Igbos and their culture but she makes me a sort of believer. A sort of ooo. Plus we are namesakes too. Whoop

Americanah was worth my time and the hype too in my opinion.

Part 2 cometh…

Tickles hunnies and have a most FABtastic weekend…

Tani you are amazing. I feel like God brought you into my life for a time as this. I hope that I can appreciate all your sweeteness these few days especially for the visits and calls. I have drawn strength from you… Daalu.. and thank you too for bringing AMERICANAH to me to read. It has been a good companion for the past two days just when I needed the familiarity of a well written book. I should steal the book and never return it but I will use my church mind and return it asap and go and buy mine…

I discovered another FABtastic blog and blogger menoword She is doing a series on GRATITUDE JOURNAL which I abs love because it makes one consciously call to mind and write down the things for which one is grateful and publish it on the blog… I would love to start that challenge for say 20days and also tag a few blogger friends of mine so that we start together and are accountable for each other so no one misses a day or falls by the wayside. If there are interested Bloggers, please holla at me and let’s get this started.

I had also previously read Menoword’s blogpost on Americanah. Her views are quite different from mine because she said she didn’t FEEL anything and that (I love how she puts this)

‘…Americanah is odd. It doesn’t attempt to make itself relatable. It seems to wander from one place to another, from one perspective, one emotional and mental place to another, as if when she was writing it, Ms Adichie herself put it down and picked it up over and over again, and as if each time that she picked it up, she was a different person…’ Funny how the scatter scatter nature of the book is my major attraction. hehehe

So I finally got around to registering my very own domain name. I had a reader message me privately and ask to help me do that especially as he knew my blog was getting more and more traffic and very soon, someone would register it and by then I would have to pay whatever the person asked for to get it off him. As a gidi babe, I quickly got someone to register it for me. And now we are rolling on www.eziaha.com Fabulous yeah? Hehehe

Nothing. Or better still cant recall…

It was a long post abi? Pele. You know Adichie and I have that, among other things in common

Mehn I just ran into what I think is true… A picture.

It claims that it is Adichie and her husband. She always dedicates her book to IVARA so i thought Ivara was a very dear late person. Turns out it is her hubby. Hmmmmm. I kinda believe that this is HIM cos I read the story attached to the pix. WOW!!! He fine. I kinda stopped searching for him because I had run out of ginger. The guy was simply OFFLINE lol…. Yay!!! Mega discovery today. I like how she said in AMERICANAH… ‘And as always for Ivara”

Love Nwantiti hehehe. At least she is human. please if this is NOT him abeg tell me ooo lemme put it down LOL

Like i said today has been amazing..,
Had a sleep over at my besto Valerie so the morning was good…
Came back to my crib and did a little clean up and then rushed off to see my supervisor and i really was scared as to what he would say about my project and stuff seeing that Eziaha was her own supervisor…practically… But gosh my supervisor wrote ‘very good work’ Whoop whoop!!! the God in the girl is good…
Then off i zoomed to fix my chipped nails then braid the hair finally…. You do know the dreads are gone, for now though…

Did something short and colorful… blue and gold extensions… used kanekolon weave because of my home girl Stephanie Linus…

It really hurts though… I guess my scalp has gotten so tender… Dreads was just painless… All this braiding sef… I am not even sure i look that good though i have been getting them compliments… :p I MISS MY DREADS… I WILL BE DREADFULLY BACK…

During the braiding process, i made and received a lot of calls… One of them, i called to ‘para’ that is rake.. I so shouted at him… He really annoyed me… double hiss… he did apologise though and we kinda cool now…

Then I took my dresses to amend at the tailor/designer… the dress is just fabulous… One of them especially for church this sunday. Trust me to put the pictures up… Then another one my darling Uche and I would sew a HOT HOT HAWT gown… ‘an co’ tins… hehehe.

In fact, plenty dress runs today… Studio runs too…  Had a studio session that i dont wanna share hehehe… you mustn’t know it all jor…

Then back to my room. attempted changing a light bulb and broke it… *tears*, took dinner; raisin bran cereal deceiving myself that i am on a diet… then entered Lara’s song mode. incidentally i was hunting for Sinach’s latest album when i saw Lara’s own and mehn, no regrets

Right now, i am still dancing, joyful within and without…

meanwhile did i mention the reason for my joy? Tz God ooo… recently, we have been having this private amazing discussion on sundry issues. I am amazed at the things he has been telling me and mine… Amazing stuff… He literarily pulled a seat… for himself and I, and then we have been sharing intimacy… private moments. please stay off… My lover God and I… The things I am hearing eh, they are making me JOYFUL…

And have i mentioned that i have been blessed with the world’s BEST BOOOOOO…. Love you baby… Kisses…

And I LOVE YOU Valerie…

And to y’all, have a most fabulous weekend…

Life is JOYFULLY beautiful…
